about

In August 2010, I gathered with Michael Schwartz, Clayton Shotwell, Margaret Mell, Mark Allan Kaplan, and Sean Saiter to hold the first official scholarly panel discussion on the nature and future of the intersections between an emerging "integral" consciousness and the philosophy and practice of art.

This is an extremely cerebral conversation rife with dense and specific language; it's definitely worth a listen, though, so if you have any questions, you can direct them to me at michaelgarfield(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll answer you by posting explanatory notes on this page.

Our hosts at John F. Kennedy University have allowed me to make this free to stream, but to download it you'll need to buy it in a package with the rest of the conference's (amazing) lectures and panel discussions. You can find those here:

www.acteva.com/booking.cfm?bevaid=192548

I have made my own commentary available for free download, but I encourage interested listeners to support JFKU and the continuing integral project by following the link above.

If you'd like to see excerpts from my contribution to the panel mixed in with acoustic-electronic guitar and a live painting time-lapse video (ooooh, synesthetic!), you can watch that here:
